Any recommendations for a light weight backpack (under 1kg) that could take a Canon 300 F2.8, 1DIV and a 13" MacBook Pro. I would normally use a Thinktank Airport Commuter however I'm looking for a lightweight non camera bag that could accomodate gear on a small number of occasions when I can't take the airport commuter.

I use a North Face Recon II daypack for that sort of thing, although it's usually loaded with a light-weight EF-S system and etc.

My TT Airport Commuter will be loaded for bear next month, when I head to Utah for a couple of weeks. I also take a Timbuk2 Informant Camera Sling (M), which fits the 'personal item' carry-on specs; it's usually nearly empty, but can it handle the excess items in the TT, if somebody wants to weigh it.

Alternatively, if I'll be in and around small boats and/or a lot of rain, I use a small Seal Line Urban Backpack 17L, or large MEC Slogg Deluxe 70L backpack. The Slogg even fits my 500/4L IS, which I used on an island-hopping trip to Labrador, a few years ago.

Thanks for the advice. Have managed to find an Under Armour bag that gets me under the 7kgs weight restriction that Emirates impose on hand luggage.
