p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Macros - back to tubes and reversing rings - IV

Could not find time to take the macro lens for repair, working with Extension tubes on the 55-250 continues

1. Jewel beetle - with all the experimentation of lighting and diffusion, was finally able to take images of these super shiny creatures without blown highlights/reflections.

2. Unknown moth, closeup

3. Shield bug with parasitic mites

4. A Bactrocera caught up in a social spider web

C&C sought, as always.

Cheers!

Lovely images. However, I have some reservations about making a very shiny beetle matt.

The "mites" on the shield-bug look more like ticks.

Thank you, Brian and Harold

Harold - Agree on the matte part..this specimen wasn't as glossy though. It is always a fine line when trying to diffuse flash lighting. Will lookup/research on the mites
