I already have the 24-70 GM so for 11mm to 23 mm since it's not an action lens for me so I will either adapt CaNikon lens in inventory or use CaNikon bodies to mount those lenses.

Well.....B&H are sending me a check for my 16-35 F4 so now I really HAVE to decide. 12-24 or 16-35 2.8. Decisions decisions. I have the 23-70 2.8 and like it a lot (though I am having a bit of trouble nailing sharp focus). I have a good copy of the 70-300. So getting the 12-24 makes a lot of sense by providing a set of three zooms covering 12-300mm. I actually used my 16-35 F4 more than any other lens, and I'm having regrets. You might reasonably ask why I unloaded it to B&H. At this point I'm really not sure....GAS, mostly. I'm really not sure what to do now. Not sure I really need 12-16 thaaat badly and I have a decent CV12. Tell me what to do.

Get the 12-24 sell the CV 12 and offset the cost. That would be my logical move knowing what I know now of the 12-24. The GM 24-70 is a perfect combo.

Guy, you are a good salesman. I ordered the 12-24 and will try to see what they'll give me for the CV12. Now I'll have to get the NiSI filter holder and some 150mm filters.....

Having the 24-70 which is so good from 24-50 it makes perfect sense to have outstanding 12-21 in a lens. Have the field really covered throw in a prime in and your all set

The 12-24 is so fun and light! The GM looks awesome, but the 12-24 is a real gem in the FE lineup.

I had never really thought that I would be a 16-35mm sort of guy as I never really saw the sense in the overlap from when I used have the Nikon holy trinity of 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 but since getting the FE 70-300 it has made more sense to me as I can just carry the 2 for landscape work and I think with the 12-24 the gap with not having anything in the 24 to 70 range would be to much

Too big and heavy for me, I will stick with my 16-35/4. The main reason I switched to sony was to have a hiking friendly kit,

A good copy of the 16-35/4 is still a great lens. Sometimes we have to compromise on ultimate IQ for more important reasons like our health and well being!

24-35 is a lot more useful for some than 12-16. So is the f/2.8. There are many fantastic 24-70 zooms and they are indespensible for pros but personally I never enjoyed lugging one around (unless I had something specific to shoot).

The comments of too big are funny. The Batis 25 + 18 weigh as much as the new lens!

Already got it, and immediately knew it would replace a bunch of lenses!

For me big means what's hanging off the camera...not what is in the pack. So even through the Batis 25 and 18 together might weigh as much as the 16-35, either one of those on my camera weighs less than half of what the 16-35 weighs...that is what counts.

I have no problems carrying extra lenses on my back...I have problems carrying a bunch of extra weight hanging off my wrist or neck.

It is much larger, and a whole lot more expensive. I picked up a like new 16-35/4 for less than $1,000 and it's an excellent copy. I also prefer the color response of the f4 for landscape pictures.

O come on give credit to Sony for making it light for it's size compared to it competition
It's the price that causes the real criticism, not the feat of making such a light super sharp lens that kills it's smaller brother, with a big whoop 5.7 oz gain
