Nice set, tough shooting black and white birds. I guess a D500 is now your film :-}
Morris
Thanks Morris, appreciate your comments. Yeah, the D500 and D800 are my new mediums. I was a late convert to digital, and at the time I joined FM I had no intentions to convert to digital. Still have my Nikon film and slide scanner

Excellent captures! Looks like shots from a seasoned bird in flight photographer , certainly not a novice. Very nicely done.

Thank you for your kind words Birdie !

Cam, thanks so much for leaving your comments. I'm glad you liked the images. One of my big goals is to make it to Churchill some day for the polar bears. When I do, I'll be coming through Winnipeg!

a sweet set of puffins Jeff
Thanks very much for your kind words! (I wish I could find some place in Nova Scotia to photograph puffins! It would save me a lot of trouble having to learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road. )

All of the pics are nice, as they reveal such diverse behaviors and poses. I really like the last photo in your set...
Just a quick suggestion... if you were shooting raw, you may want to tone down the highlights just a bit. I am seeing details in the chest feathers, but they appear a touch hot when viewed on my computer.
cheers,
bruce
Thanks so much for the feedback Bruce. I am shooting raw and post-processing with ACR and PS CS6. However, I'm flying a bit blind since none of my monitors are calibrated. I'll try to tone down the whites a bit.
