I've used the partial color advance filter a few times and each time noticed colors where there shouldn't be. For example, I took some pictures of monks in Cambodia and while everything else is black and white, the robe AND lips or face will have red/orange color spots to them.

How do I ensure that the camera only captures the color that I want?

capture raw and edit later. That is the only way you will have the control you wanted. The camera is seeing places that have the color range you are looking for, it has no clue where in the image you want the color.

Best to capture in raw and edit later. Especially with creative images.

That's a good thought Alan. I did RAw+ JPEG with that thinking in mind. Just wasn't sure if there was any way to make sure that I only get the color where I need it to be. I don't do a lot of post processing so I usually like to do everything in camera.
