Curious to know if people are using the Sigma 18mm-35mm 1.8. If so, what camera body are you using it with. What are your thoughts on it? Sharp? Focus speed?

Love the concept of a zoom lens with a low aperture. I've been debating on buying one, but than I'd also have to buy a camera with a crop sensor...

If you mean the Sigma 18-35, it's a very well-regarded lens by videographers that mate it to various bodies and formats with Metabones adaptors.

On a full-frame dSLR, it's a 29-56mm view at ƒ2.8 (depth of field equiv). If you really want a shallow wide angle, try Sigma's 24-35 ƒ2 — it's a remarkable optic. Photographers really get addicted to that lens.

Also, Sigma has that new 14mm 1.8

Do you need anything wider or faster than a 16-35 ƒ2.8?

I was thinking of picking up a 7dii + 18-35mm 1.8f art for reception photos and 3rd backup... But don't know how the quality compares to a full frame like the 5div

I can certainly see the appeal. Also, you'll have some extra length on your tele end with the 7Dii for big or outdoor events.
