p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Peak Design Everyday Sling bag as a lens changer bag for wedding/portrait shooters

QUICK review of how I'm packed for next Friday, my next wedding.

I will arrive with a gear bag and a lens changer bag. The gear bag will contain three bodies, all attached to lenses, and a few other items. But the gear bag will be left behind (mostly empty) and not used much if at all.

My assistant will have a FF body and 24-70, not changing much, if at all. She will carry this lens changer bag. At times I will switch to a lens that is in this bag. And at times we will replace a battery or two, in my bodies. I dual wield. Typically 28/58, 28/70-200, 58/70-200.

Wedding & Portrait shooters could consider this bag as an option for a lens changer bag. Because it works as a LC Bag, however, it doubles as a sling bag for everyday use, and travel.

I have seen it used effectively as a diaper bag too

So where do you keep your back up bodies and lenses? You mentioned your larger transport case is pretty much empty once you are set to work.

I have a Tamrac messenger that I can configure similarly - discreet black and a lot cheaper. But I am sure this PD option is better ergonomically.

When I'm on the job (TV productions doing stills). I have backups for almost everything. I shoot woth two bodies and have two backups. And I have backups on almost all my lenses, especially for the ones I use the most. Many years ago when I did weddings with a Hasselbald I had back up for everything including my Norman 200B lights.

Well at least backup your main lenses and have at least one spare body. Equipment going down is no excuse not to complete the job.

I'm continuously surprised by the number of photographers who don't know about this incredible gadget. I dual wield too with monemakers, and can carry an extra lens or two with this bad boy, all without having to bring another bag.

there was a Korean gent that showed a version off a year earlier at Photo Plus in NYC. not really into that concept. a few variables that could be problematic in use. lots of useful things out there some less so. once you're over the wow factor it gets old.

I love the innovation in this. I own a lot of their gear, but that one aspect of their lineup is not for me.

I've used it for 20+ weddings, and it's going stronger than ever. You can change a lens with one hand, by simply removing it, putting it on the empty mount, and flipping around to the new one. Takes a couple of seconds, and you're back shooting.

I tried it after fumbling with bag orientation when using the moneymaker. It's worth a try!

1 issue
money maker is tough to stuff in here if you have two bodies, each with a prime on there.
