I was able to get access to the media wells at the AAA Sacramento RiverCats baseball day game against the Tacoma Rainiers. I switched between my 1Dx Mark II with a 100-400mm lens and a Nikon D5 with a 200-500mm f5.6 lens.

Is it just me or do these seem a little noisy for what appears to be a day game?

They look a little over-processed or over-sharpened. Maybe reprocess and back off the sharpening sliders a fair bit, particularly with the big crops?

Are you talking about the shadow on the ball from the catchers glove? I should have shot this at a faster shutter to remove the ball blur. It was 1/2000.
