Thanks all for the kind words. Jim F - for me, it was the new toy syndrome. I had rented the Tamron 150-600 zoom for the trip for wildlife purposes. So when I put it on the tripod, I was looking to use all of its zoom, which at 600, put me amazingly "close" to those mountains. It didn't occur to me to take a wider shot...... And I'm thinking that maybe that was a good thing, since I think the compression actually helps the image some. But I'll never know, since I didn't get any wider shots. So I am glad I was able to piece multiple shots together.
