My Magic Mouse bit the dust the other day. So, I'm now in the market for another mouse. I'm just curious what you guys are using for Lightroom and Photoshop on Mac, and why?

Much appreciated,

-Patrick

If I need a mouse beyond my trackpad, I use the Logitech MX Master. The side-scroll wheel is revolutionary, especially if you deal with wide spreadsheets.....and the ergonomics are superior to any other mouse I have ever used...oh, and it's rechargeable.

Apple Magic Trackpad. Once I got used to it it's far superior to a mouse - and no more RSI.

Magic mouse 2 (just remember to keep it charged, because you can't use it and charge it at the same time). Wacom tablet for detailed photo editing.

Logitech M505 - i like small mice, and never really liked having 2 dozen programmable buttons so the fancy gaming mice don't appeal.

Got a small Wacom too, but i never seem to use it.

I like the Evoluent vertical mouse. Enough buttons to have some programmable (I use USB Overdrive on OSX to control the non-standards) and angled to keep my wrists from failing as fast

Apple Magic Trackpad, easy to zoom in/out, scroll left/right, and many more functions without constantly moving your wrist around.

Well, on a whim, I bought a Logitec wireless M325 that was on sale at Staples (for you non-USA folks, that's a big office supply chain of stores here) about a month or so ago. I am using it on a mid-2015 rMBP under OSX Sierra. It has given me fits in that the mouse has been erratic. Mouse pointer simply has not responded to mouse movements from time to time.

Could not figure out why until I did some troubleshooting very recently. Like everyone, I, lazy or stubborn, sort of ignored some of the basic warnings that Logitec provides when I opened the package like avoid having the small USB receiver being near any powered devices or anything that might cause interference to the mouse signal or don't attach to a hub. So, fast forward and I've tried using the USB port onmy rMBP that is furtherest away from any power sources (the right-hand USB port on my MBP) and now, Voila!, it now works like a charm. Amazing what happens when you follow directions. Duh!

So, my point here is that the warning about avoid interference and not having it "attached" to a hub downstream of a USB post are points that should be paid attention to. For now, it seems to work fine (I am old fashioned in that I like a two-button mouse with a scroll wheel and use right-click often).

I love my Logitech MX Master mouse. It works perfectly on OS X too
Excellent wireless mouse (a must for me), very customizable and can be bought at the discounted price on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2tSsiUe

Battery lasts very long and can be easilycharged via a miniUSB cable. I have it since it was introduced and had no problems at all.

MX Master is the best mouse I've used to date...
I get around 2 weeks battery life and I use the mouse a lot. Works while charging, be it you use a soft and flexible micro usb cable.

MX Master 2 is out now, with higher DPI.

Logitech M570. I cannot make my M$ 5 button trackball work under Win 8 or later, so I had to switch. Came with a K350 keyboard. With the Logitech unifying thing I make both work on one USB port.

I find a trackball necessary because I simply cannot click a button without moving the mouse, however imperceptibly.

I just checked and I bought the trackball in May of 2015. The battery (one lonesome little AA coppertop is still fair. The keyboard battery shows good.(2 AA) Neither are ever turned off.

I haven't used a mouse in many, many years, even at werke.
I use the Logitech Trackball, the one I currently use is M570.
I started soo many years ago with the old serial Marble series.
I can't see any reason to use a mouse...

It varies per machine

Cmp use wired apple mouse USB or Wacom cintiq tablet

Hp dv 7 either stock touchpad or a Logitech wireless mouse

Mbp standard. Touchpad so far.

Back when I used pcs I preferred the Logitech wave keyboard and the mouse that came with it but since switching to apple this year my cpuble sets of the above KOB and mouse have gone unused.
