Excellent shot.

I tried for a portrait of one in my garden yesterday but it kept turning away.

Yes their normal behaviour is to walk slowly away from the camera.
I effectively trapped this one by picking the leaf it was on and rotating the leaf in my hand. It eventually got bored and stayed still so I managed then to take some shots (still holding the leaf).

Beautiful frontal shot! Love the detail in the eye.

Nit - The highlights on the hind legs could be tamed, found them to be leading the eye
