Can someone recommend a good wetland area in NC for taking wildlife or particularly Bird pictures. Thanks

While I do not know NC particularly well, I have been to Lake Mattamuskeet NWR in the late spring, and it was very nice. I think it would have been even nicer a bit earlier in the season. Spring and fall are both supposed to be very nice there. Winter might even be nice too (but I am not sure of that).

I am interested in hearing what others have to suggest, since I do have family in NC, and travel there occasionally.

You'd have to follow Fall/Spring migration reports.
There is lots to explore in the outer banks.
Mattamuskeet and Pungo are pretty amazing in winter when swans and geese winter over, along with other birds.
The summer fun in the Outer Banks I think are the black bears.
