Their 24-70 with OS is very competitively priced against the 24-70E... Might be an upgrade to my old 24-70G. =O

Very good price on the 24-70. Tamron is likely to ask 1200 for their to be announced 24-70 SP. Just guessing

Sigma produce nice sharp lenses! It is just harder to find one with no af problem !

For the 14, it's all about coma and edge. I hope Sigma delivers on this one. The 20 disappointed IMHO.

Will the Sigma lenses work with future Canon bodies? A problem at times when Canon moves forward and older lenses no longer work on them.

Thanks to the Sigma dock, odds are that Sigma would be able to release firmware to fix compatibility issues as they arise. Unless Canon moves to a totally new lens mount or something like that.

I guess we won't really know until Canon announces a new lens mount now won't we? As far as I know, I've not heard of any rumors Canon changing mounts.

If Sigma wasn't known for somewhat inconsistent AF results on Nikon bodies, I'd be all over the new line of lenses; great pieces of glass at great prices; but I need consistent AF!

Interesting, I heard that the Sigmas were more consistent on Nikons than Canons. Who knows though.

Their slower lenses like the 120-300 f2.8, 24-105 f4, 500mm f4, and 150-600 sport all seem to have no AF issues though, I've only heard of inconsistencies with the f1.4 lenses - so hopefully the 24-70 f2.8 performs as well as those other lenses.

Well I only shoot Nikon so not sure how they perform on Canon

And there are some lenses that have no issues, others do have issues.

I don't want to have to mess around with a dock and software to get my AF correct. Part of this I think is that Nikon keeps their AF software close to home so third party lenses usually have to try and reverse engineer it or best guess it.

Roughly the same cost as the Nikon 24-70 used... Decisions decisions...

I can't seem to find any reviews or technical analysis on the Sigma. Has no one gotten a copy yet?

Does anyone know if the 24-70 is weather sealed? Detailed information about the lens is rather scarce, or at least I haven't found much.

When they put 'Art' on it, they don't typically go for more than the basics. Tamron might one-up them here, as their 'SP' line purports to be similar to L/GM/gold-ring lenses in terms of weather resistance.
