not yet ID'd. Anyone real sharp on their Odonata ID?

3rd week in September, 2016 and losing breeding plumage. By October 2nd the chick made its maiden flight and the parent led it to the ocean.

I do not push them up. But if I am sliding by and they do not want to stick around...I try to be ready.

You are sitting on one of the spots I used to bass fish from 50 years ago.

The dragonfly looks like a male Canada Darner. You could ask on bugguide.net if you want to be certain.
