This is a jewel of a beetle, reminding me of Fabergé eggs. I have previously tried full flash and a mixture of flash and daylight to show the colours. This time I used only daylight.
Last year, and the year before, a single individual spends several days on Rosemary and/or Lavender in my garden. This year, I found at least three on the Rosemary. (Update: I could find at least seven this morning. So, a thriving colony).
The difficulty with photographing this species is that it tends to remain immobile, with its head tucked into the axil (leaf/stem joint) of the plant. At one stage, either I dislodged one or it just fell on some lead debris in the plant pot. That one gave me some excellent angles of view.
Olympus EM-1, Olympus 4/3 x2TC, Olympus 4/3 50mm f2 macro, f9-13, hand-held.
