p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Shot another wedding but NO black matte editing this time!

I shot a wedding by myself yesterday and took the advice I received from my last post where I second shot a wedding. The only matte editing I did the time was on the Bible ring shot where I felt it made it better. This is only my second wedding alone so any and all CC welcomed, I have thick skin. All of these shot with the 6D and Tamron 24-70 combo. Here are a few shots...

Like you I'm a newb to weddings, so I'm not well qualified to judge, but these look great. Good timing and composition.

Quick thoughts:

nice couple of photos.
From business perspective:
-Update the water mark. the style of font is dating.
-if you are shooting more weddings... where is you own blog - site?

Images:
1) nice solid capture. can not discuss color- on non-calibrated monitor.
2) Is a great expression on the brides face but poor frame composition.
My eyes want to look at the entire frame. I keep wanting to look at the guys head on the left (bright area) and the light off on the right.
OCF will help fix this but looking at the entire frame would have you move to your rights next time.
3) Nice moment.
Weird crop for the image. Image needs more space on the sides. I keep wanting to look around the image instead of the bride and groom.
Looks like it was under exposed and then pulled up in post.
4) Nice capture. Good setup. Good use of lines and the entire frame. Not a fan of the crop.
5) Pretty cool capture. evokes a story. Nice.
For next time ... ask your self how you can make this better.
Maybe an OCF behind the bride to rim light her. just an idea.
6)Nice solid fill shot. Meaning... this will be a good shot to go with a full length portrait in the getting ready phase of the day. nice processing. I would have gotten rid of the little blemish on the frame of the mirror.
7)Nice idea ... but save it for next wedding. You only need 1 ring shot for a wedding. Maybe 2-3 if shooting with a bunch of jewelry. But only 1 main ring-only shot.

Any B&G portraits images?

This is a good place to start. keep going. Lots to learn and explore.

-Mark

These are FAR better than what you posted previously, regarding post work.

I would highly recommend re-thinking your crop ratio. You should provide camera format ratio (or as close to it as possible) as it will help much more when it comes to print offerings after the job. Basically, it will save you the, "I'll have to re-edit the cropping to print that" speech. Regardless of having to tell them, it opens doors in their mind without having to ask, or assuming something won't work. Sticking with the native format also keeps your shooting and post work much more consistent regarding composition. With experience, you'll find you achieve very little need for cropping in post by bringing these together.

You're hired. Nice work.

With this baseline, you can venture off onto personal style which will take some time and will evolve over the years.

OT - she's very pretty
