Nice ones...

But

Summer is about to end in our islands. That means the onset of the rainy season is here, and the night skies start to get interesting.

That doesn't quite add up for me.
Anyhoo, here's some more from Sukhothai. We only had one full day to see the site (Jan. 31st), so before long, we hopped onto rental bikes and started exploring the stuff farther afield this way - else there would've been no way to catch as much of it as we have in one day.

Wat Sa Si (the last major temple complex we've explored inside the main city).

Wat Phra Phai Luang. The test drive has been successful and we've found that despite the lack of experience - I tend to love cycling but since I have no bike of my own, I only do this very rarely, literally once in a few years - we were poised to have success. Well, in the end we have not seen everything, but we did visit (and photograph) the most important landmarks.

More of Sukhothai. The last installment of the "temples and sculptures" series for now; believe or not, a "wildlife" section is coming soon. Even birds, despite my lukewarm attitude to that particular class of Vertebrata.

The Great Buddha at Wat Si Chum. 14mm barely allows it to fit in the frame. Right as if on cue, in strode a couple of American girls... one of which had an 11-24L lens on a 5D Mark III (or a similar camera unit). I can imagine this was a walk in the park for her.

Wat Chedi Ngarm on the northwestern outskirts of Sukhothai. My wife left me to guard the bikes and went up there. It still does look nice even in the distant shot. Maybe I should've pulled the same thing on her later...

Wat Mangkorn. There's a photo of us on the bikes somewhere...

Some Thai wildlife shot in Sukhothai. Nothing so very interesting but it was fun shooting some living critters, clearly a hard test for the Tamron 70-300 as the keeper rate was very low for dragonflies and the like. Passive critters turned out well enough, however.

(major major crop from a 300mm photo)

Skimming water bugs (no idea how they're called properly). I've never seen such a concentration of them however.
