This is supposed to be a common species but I have seen only one adult in my garden in recent years. This is the first larva I have ever seen and recognised. It is instantly recognisable by the two large rectangular marks on the dorsal side of the thorax. It was about 6mm long. All images have been cropped. They are not as good as I had hoped but may still be of interest.
