yeah, well, nothing really to laugh about!!

I like the interplay.
Image looks a bit flat/low contrast. Maybe move white point?

Contrast and white balance adjustment per your suggestion.

2nd is better. Nice pairing of the face and graffiti.

Can't make out the word at the bottom, but my first thought was "Leroy" and my mind confused it with Kilroy as in "Kilroy was here" which would have been fitting. Obviously it's neither, but that was my first flash.

Thanks Ben. Actually, I stumbled onto something that I wasn't aware of. At the bottom of the sculptured face is the signature, GREG05. When my daughter looked at it, she suggested that I google it to see if anything would come up. Here's what I found: http://www.thepicta.com/tag/greg05

Apparently he's someone like Banksy who leaves his artwork in public places

The graffiti/grit made me want to go mono here, big surprise.

What stood out most here was that I feel that the crop is on an island. Too tight to get a full idea of the overall scene that shows the door/window (?) and face in the wall but too loose to really focus in on the interesting aspects in play.

Reworked tighter as I dunno what you were working with overall.

What's the story behind this?

Jeff

Thanks Jeff for your suggestions. This was the side of a bank building on a major corner, 14th Street and 6th Avenue. What attracted my attention was the misspelled graffiti along with the sculpture above it. I didn't realize until after I processed and posted the photo that the sculpture was street art, not part of the building, and I'm fairly sure not there with the permission of the landlord. Most passersby probably don't even notice it or give it a second thought. Refer to my previous post with a link to some other work by the artist.
