It was a pleasant surprise to see a small flock of Waxwings fly into the top of a tree right beside me while I'm standing there trying to shoot a Little Green Heron. The LGH wasn't giving me much so I turned and spent the next few minutes shooting and observing Waxwings. Quite interesting to watch two adults feeding each other, they went back and forth passing a berry for at least 5 minutes. In reading about this behavior, it's a premating ritual that is common to the Waxwings. Anyway, here's a few of the shots I was able to get.

Really nice clean shots, Louie! What interesting behavior! We don't get them here so I'm not familiar with them.

Louie, keep an eye out for Bohemians...we still have some mixed with the cedars in C.Oregon.

Aren't they something, Louie!!? I never grow tired of watching or photographing them (though not much opportunity this year). I too have seen that feeding behavior--amazing!

Love your portraits of them. The in-flight are especially nice for both showing the action but also their beautiful display of colors.
