hi there

short question - lots of great pictures here but i constantly have to scroll left and right to view the pictures in the threads. Is there a forum function to force the pictures to fit into the page width or is it more due to the size of the linked/attached pictures and hence i wont be able to do anything about it

thanks!!!

Hi,

I think we're stuck with it. Some devices, like smart phones, handle oversize images fairly well, but the traditional desktop/notebook environment doesn't.

Just click on the image - it will scale for the screen.

Another option would be if the OP noted the Forum guidelines for size of picture to post is 800 pixels on the long side.

I think that particular guideline is outdated. Fred increased the maximum posting size to 2000px on the longest side. It's been discussed that most people are using larger monitors now, so perhaps 800px isn't the best presentation anymore.

I really don't find that on a phone. The mobile version of the site is OK, but lacking in info about recent posts. The large MP images often make the text miniscule if the desktop version is used.
