Impressionism?

p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Impressionism?

I tried out an older Nikon AIS 180mm/2.8 ED lens on my GX8 and although it's quite cumbersome and awkward, I found the results to be pleasing.

I did notice that out-of-focus areas were quite dreamy and I started taking some images that were completely out-of-focus to achieve a somewhat "impressionistic" look.

I'm sure this technique has been used before and it's limited in usefulness and appeal...but I thought I would share.

All shot in RAW at f/2.8 with only black-point adjusted down a bit.

Interesting experiment. But I don't think the dark background is helping.

Scaling those would make for some nice backgrounds.

Nr. 2 colors are closest to Impressionism like Claude Monet. But they never painted perfect circular spots
