Parents have asked what i want for christmas and well there is nothing that really stands out for me right now that is under £100.

So everyone list the best accesories that yu believe every photographer should have that cost under £100 or $175 US. Bear in mind i use canon.

What kind of stuff do you shoot?

If it's landscape...

- Singh Ray Blue-Gold polarizer
- Heliopan Thin mount regular polarizer
- Bogen 3001 or 3021N tripod legs

If it's portraiture...

- Some Vivitar or Sunpak battery operated flashes with slave triggers. (You might be able to swing 2 of those for $175...)
- 1 or 2 collapsible reflectors
- lightstands!

There is tons of other stuff I can think of, but it's not occurring to me at the moment. You might actually think about these items, which are always useful....

- CF cards
- SD cards (for that Mark II you are about to get. )
- External hard drive for the computer.

Just some ideas.

Chris

I bought this book for myself & you may already have it -

Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Man, the Image and the World: A Retrospective

It is a fantastic read/insight into the work of HCB & less than £50 - leaves you some change for a high quality soup flask & good quality socks for this winter's outdoor shots!

Regards

Rod

A cable release (remote switch). Way under your limit, but maybe they'll give you a basket full of goodies.

Spare battery(s) - ditto.

Big Ed (the grip).

Extension tubes.

Best I could do in a short time.

Have Fun,

Bubble level for the hot shoe, photo vest, new camera bag to hold the camera and new lenses (always buy bags a little bigger than what you need now.)

I put a mini McBeth color reference card on my list. Omni-bounce is nice. Not sure what an L bracket costs, but a true must have.

an ST-E2 wireless transmitter- go off-camera with that 550ex!

Also, along the same lines- an Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2, or a Stroboframe (or whatever your flash bracket of choice happens to be)
