By the way, your help [and others] on the card question ended so many worries and fears on my part.
Thanks.

Was wondering why you were not using your 600mm + 2x for shorebirds (IMO, provide a better angle of view ) but than Mitesh mentioned about RE - would have been too tight. TFS

The main reason I wasn't using the 600II is that I didn't bring it or want to lug it around. The other issue is that for some of these we were lying in the water with my elbows planted in the mud holding up the lens. The 600 would have been a bit heavy for that.

Hey Geoff I know EXACTLY what you mean--the only thing worse than a 4 AM departure from Orlando to North Beach is what happened to KD and me a couple weeks earlier--unfavorable weather the night before, wind, and no birds!

Good to see you didn't have that experience--a great collection of shorebirds all in breeding plumage. My favorites are the Red Knot and Dunlin. I'll look forward to seeing more.

Greg

Thanks Greg. The good thing is I wasn't driving so I just fell back to sleep

Exceptional work here Geoff, I really like the low angle on these shorebirds. You folks shooting in Florida are killing me, I want to get down there but just too many other things going on right now.

Thanks Don...Mitesh and I did go a bit lower but we had the lighter gear also....I don't know if I would have lay down if I was handholding a 500/4 like Ron
