Across from Madras Airport. Banners on old trucks along the highway announce camping spaces are for rent in these fields for the solar eclipse in August 21, 2017. Apparently Madras is in "the totality", darkest area - near night - for the event...the potential for a reprise of Woodstock I should think. Concerts and festivals being advertised as well - most of Portlandia might attend!

Not to miss the revenue potential, the General Store in Shaniko was selling "Eclipse Viewing Glasses" for $2.29 a pair - don't think I'd trust my vision to those.

This is really nice, Bob. I'm having a hard time finding anything that I don't like about this one. At first I wasn't sure about the amount of foreground, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love how that fortuitous cloud happened right over the house directing our eyes towards it. The trees add a nice balance and having all the depth in play enhances how freaking desolate the area is. And the finish off I feel that the toning is completely appropriate.

I do find myself wanting just a HAIR more breathing room on the right. But not much. I might pull back a LITTLE on the sharpening as well.

I dunno, to me this screams for a huge negative space mat and large frame. But then again I've never been called bright.

Very nice one, I have nothing to add to Jeff's comments and agree with them.

Nice one!

My only nit is the need for a little content aware fill clean up on the right edge. Floating branches and repetitive grass clump.

The cloud gods were smiling upon you that day.
