Is the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm f2.8's distortion a deal breaker for photographing architecture? Was thinking about buying one for a Italy - Rome/Venice/Florence trip for some interior photography if my Loxia 21 isn't wide enough. I would probably use ptlens to correct the distortion.

Open to other ideas - would defishing a Samyang 12mm f2.8 be a better alternative? Trying to spend <$500 otherwise I'd just buy a Voigtlander 10mm or 12mm.

if your PP software has a profile, i'd say no. on my lens, infinity focus is near the 3 metre mark on the focus ring which is wrong, but at least it's consistently wrong by a consistent amount. I'm very happy with my rok 14, especially it's amazing price.

others have suggested the 'reduction' in resolution from a profile correction is unacceptable. YMMV

I need an UWA zoom
like down near 12 or 14mm
currently using sigma art 12-24 f4 on nikon and it's great for what I need

tripod use
commercial real estate and interior

I was thinking the sony 12-24 f4 is my best option? what is the second best?

or is there a prime I should be considering?

I have the Sony 12-24mm G lens. It's a great lens. Very sharp and super light.

Sony 12-24 is likely the best. The CV 12/5.6 is great for a small option, but the Sony is a bit better.

Yup, for this use the Sony 12-24 is probably best. You don't need filters so much and having FL options is ideal.

The Sony 12-24 is a freak . Really nice lens to 21mm . It will beat the Cv12 but I’m using the Laowa 15mm F 2 and the Loxia 21mm as I find them better for me. I like to manual focus down here so I really like the feel of manual lenses. Just depends on what you like the 12-24 is a good lens. I’m just not a big fan of zooms and never have been. Old fart thinking

I don't use autofocus and don't like zooms, but I sold my Voigtlander 12 after trying the Sony 12-24. It's that good. Its manual focus is actually very good, which really surprised me since I swore up and down that I'd never get another focus-by-wire lens, and have a very strong preference for fully MF lenses.

I use the 11-24L and have no issues. Pay close attention to that front element. :^) Plays nice and produces wonderful images. I also use a 10mm rectilinear with great results and it is much smaller.
