Looks like Laowa has their 7.5mm up for pre-order. The normal version (there is a lightweight version for drones as well) is scheduled to ship at the end of May. Price is $499.

Anyone going to be an early adopter? I'm interested, I don't typically pre-order lenses, but I've been wanting a wide fast prime for a while.

This would be a great lens for night photography, auroras, etc. I may get one later - waiting to see some reviews. I do like UWA lenses that are rectilinear. Sold my Rokinon 7.5mm fisheye recently. Had it for a couple of years and didn't use it even once!

Heavy vignetting, strong barrel distortion ... and very soft at the corners:

Thanks for the links.

The review states the corners get pretty good when stopped down to f/4-5.6 which I think I could live with. Didn't check out the full resolution samples yet but will have to do that later. I'm not expecting miracles at that price point.

That is true ... but I need a fast lens for night sky photography and f4-5.6 won't work for me. Also true that, for the price, it's not a bad rectilinear lens - and it's real small which is nice.

The barrel distortion seems pretty reasonable for a lens this wide and small. Certainly better than uncorrected Olympus and Panasonic lenses. The relatively low distortion is a plus for me because I would use this on the BMPCC (no correction).

I'm hoping Olympus will produce a wide angle prime like that. It's the only thing missing.

You may know that Olympus already has this 8mm f1.8 fisheye PRO lens:

I would definitely like to see a fast rectilinear UWA lens but I wouldn't hold my breath for such a lens.

I know, but fish eye is a gimmick to me that I don't pay a lot for. I do think they will introduce a pro super wide angle at some point. Just hope it will be small enough.

I would love a 6mm or 7mm UWA. f4 is fine although f2.8 would be amazing.

Also available for pre-order at B&H now. I'd be slightly more inclined to order there with their return policy. Fairly tempted...

I've received the lens and looks great. Very small but well constructed! I'll be out to try it soon.

On 5 May I ordered mine direct from China. On 8 June I asked if I was to get any notification of dispatch. I was asked to send my order number, which I did. I have heard nothing further.

On 30 May I ordered the 12mm and have no idea about a delivery date.

My Laowa 7.5 arrived today direct from China. Pretty impressed how small it is as it makes my older Panasonic 7-14mm look big. I need to get out this weekend to try some test shots with it. I guess I managed to get in on the list of the first 200 pre-ordered as mine came with the three 46mm slim filters, a UV, ND1000 and a polarizer they mention on their site. Nice.

Mine arrived half an hour ago. I ordered it on 5 May and got all the goodies too.

Sadly, our dull weather continues.

I would be interested if they brought out a 6mm rectilinear lens.

That would be pushing it ... and probably make it too big and too expensive!

While many may know this, I had to dig a little to figure out focus peaking with the Laowa as it has no electrical connections with the camera. One has to assign focus peaking to a function button in order for it to work. If one just turns on focus peaking in the menu it does not work. It is unfortunate that they do not have at least some info sent to the camera, but that is probably how they keep it so small and light.
