Had the good fortune of having a female Allen's hummingbird build her nest in the back yard this year. Got to watch for about four weeks from hatching to fledging. Since the babies fledged, the family has come back to visit a few times. Hope you enjoy the photos. It was extremely difficult to photograph the mother, as she did not really hover when returning to the nest. She came in extremely fast. I finally threw up my hands, and just decided to use trap focusing, and a lot of "spray and praying". It was really enjoyable watching the babies grow so quickly. All of the photos were taken from inside our home, so as not to pressure the family. Hope you enjoy.
