p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Flapping wood camera quiz

Let us see how well you know your digital cameras: these 3 pictures were shot with the same camera, and the same lens.
The light was bad, therefore ISO 1600 had to be used + marginal shutter speed.
All shot as JPG only.

The person who is first to guess the camera right, and gives an acceptable rationale for their guess, will receive a nice little free gift, courtesy of Fred Miranda Costa Allegre Resort.

I bet most people will say these were shot with a 1DX, so therefore, I'll say T6. Just to be a "rebel" .

OK, you are using psychology now, and I was hoping to get some tech analysis of the pictures.

Too little depth of field for an iphone
I don't think you have mentioned that you have a Sony..
Down to three
Dynamic range at iso 1600 doesn't seem to be what the 1Dx pair would create
Noise looks better than a 40D
So...

I'm guessing the T6

That is a pretty good rationale, however, we are not there yet.

Your wife's iPhone .. Just seems like a natural progression from a 1DxII ..

1Dx / 1DxII / (wife finds stash of big whites and expensive bodies) T6 / iPhone ..

Looks like T6. I had a T3i and it reminds me of shots with that camera with a long lens.

Well, it appears your wallet has sprung a leak, that is too many pixels per duck for the 1D series, and i posit that the wallet leakage was due to a new 80D in the stable. The noise is evident, and as i have an 80D that has been pushed to 1600 ISO, that is my answer.

Still incredible all things considering .jpg and ISO 1600.

Well done sir.

I hate guessing from a list, so I'm going to say that you shot these with the currently unannounced Sony A7R IV. But you deliberately downgraded the images to confuse us.

Am I right?

Thank you, the Supertelephotomaster's lot in life is to shoot with some real old junk now and then.

Well, Stoddard, T6 has come a long way ahead of T3i.

iPhone 7 portrait mode could have made these....that is my guess....it gives a nice bokeh effect using the two lenses.

Of course that is only available on the Plus model so I guess I'm wrong??

My wife's iPhone7 is the top-of-the line thingy with two cameras and a large display.
( My Blackberry phone I pitched into a trash can some 12 years ago on the day of my retirement, and no plans to ever own a cell/iPhone again.)

OK, in your estimation: how close I had to be to the duck if I were to get those images with the iPhone7 "long" lens ?

Well to get the bokeh it uses both lenses but I think you'd need to be like 2-3 ft away. At least the camera would have been, you would have been back another 6 ft using your selfie stick as usual.
