What's in a name, or in this case, a title?
I immediately thought of my vintage 78 rpm copies of "The Teddy Bear's Picnic" ("If you go down to the woods today"). It also conjured up the Brothers Grimm (the actual brothers, not the movie) and various spooky segments on Disney's "Wonderful World of Color", which I watched on a black and white TV.
Therefore, before even opening the thread, I had some preconceived notions of what might await, including the "dark and deep" you mentioned. I was surprised to find a photograph of woods that certainly look spooky, but photographed at what appears to be a cloudless midday. If there is to be a correlation between the title and the photograph, I wonder if the correlation would be tighter if the photograph was taken near dusk, especially if there was a cloudy, ominous looking sky....Show more →
+1. I feel there is a pretty large disconnect between the title and image presented. The title preps my mind for a dark, moody and atmospheric shot that makes me feel a little uncertain and brews tension. I feel the image is too bright and busy to convey the message that I was expecting as a viewer.
My (extremely rough and overexaggerated) idea below.
Cheers!
