She wanted to update her portfolio with different stuff from all her studio shoots so I chose this tidal marsh setting with harsh light and really high winds. It was a nice challenge as I mainly shoot large sources + controlled indoor environments.
on 1 cropped her feet off, 2 cropped off her hand, all photos spectacular. Great lighting, locations. I'd call the last my favorite. Thanks for sharing
Can you tell us what artificial light you used (if any) - and how you used them? I'm trying get ideas for using artificial lighting outdoors. My only experience is 1 off-camera flash in a softbox.
#2: I like the wind-blown effect on the model's hair and a really nice shot except that her right hand was cut off (ouch)
#3 and #4 are nice too. Maybe it has something to do with the light colored dress which complements the model's complection. But again, her feet were cut off.
I'll have to go the other way about the last one (favorite of some) for this reason: the lighting is rather harsh and contrasty. And the shadows need a wee bit more detail. Nice pose though.
@tnelson All the ones in the blue dress I used a AD200 strobe, with either umbrella or magmod fresnel attached to fill. Liked the hard direct setting sun only for all the ones in the metallic dark print dress. Thanks.
