I ended up with a full frame image of this Hooded Merganser juvenile male last Sunday. (4/16/17)

I added canvas to the front and bottom and ended up with an image that was 6931x4621.

Does that make it a 32 megapixel image? Just a thought, no more pixels on the bird.

1) Cloned canvas front and bottom.

Good job on the cloning. But next time just ask the bird nicely to stay still, and do a panoramic capture and stitch it together. Now we're talking

.. NO. Software manipulation .. which can be good, but your cameras' sensor won't grow new pixels .. Who does that birds' hair .. ?

Technically, the file is 6931x4261 = 29.5Mpx regardless of what sensor was the basis or what photoshopping was performed. The title is misleading, but the question of what size the file is resolution-wise after edits makes it a 29.5Mpx.

I've done that before or at least tried to photograph some canvas to combine with a full frame shot.

Thank you for the comments.

I transposed the 2 and 6. Should read 6931x4621.

Thank you.

Thank you. I think the wind was responsible for the hair, that plus his displaying for the 3 females present.

The reflection is too stretched in the expanded canvas version. You could instead try a mirror image and then use gradient tool to fade it and add a little motion blur to simulate rippled wate
