This lightweight 70-200 f/4 has improved VR over the 2.8 VR II, and I would say has better sharpness and contrast as well. It also doesn't suffer from the focus-breathing of its older, heavier brother so 200mm is really 200mm, even when you're 10' away.
The only things remarkable in terms of condition are some fading of the gold text on the lens barrel. There's also one piece of dust it seems near the front element inside the lens. Needless to say, neither of these impact image quality in any way, and the lens is a dream to use and shoot with.
