14 images to create this panoramic of a few observatories on Mauna Kea and the milky way. Big Island, Hawaii. Major change from 2000 degrees hot molten lava to almost 0 degrees at 14,000 feet elevation on one island. BTW, that glow on the base of the right observatory is the Halemaumau lava lake at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

We actually have shot for the different observatories up on Mauna Kea. I think they would rather not have each others telescope in their shots though.....

. Its fun being up there. Let me know if you ever make it to Hawaii!!!

They actually do kick everyone off at night. We also shoot for the telescopes and have access and no proper etiquette while we are up there. We drive around with no headlights and know the area really well. Let me know next time you are on the Big Island. Aloha
