I'm looking to choose a background paper for a gentler / softer / feminine quality to my portraits.

A bit like this one (although it was shot against pure white originally).

Apologies for link - I can't upload an image.


Usually I'll gel my mid / charcoal greys but as my studio isn't all that big, it can be tricky getting lighting in the space.

I'm thinking along the lines of:
Marble / Oyster / Chardonnay / Barley

Of course the answer can often be "what effect are you looking for," but I wonder if anyone has been using similar and has found pros / cons to any of the colours above?
