Love it, just beautiful.
Either the control of exposure or you are a master of b&w conversions, the balance of the black/white tones is superb here. <Tell us more how you took the shot!
Thanks for your kinds words.
It was a late afternoon. I was waiting and hopeful for a colorful sunset. There was a fog bank on the horizon that seemed to be moving inland. For this image I was using a 10 stop filter. The break in the clouds showing the horizontal light happened rather suddenly and put some lovely light on the water. This exposure was 3.2 seconds at F11 and ISO 50.
I processed the image in lightroom as a color image and then used Silver Efex Pro 2. I choose one of the presets that appealed to me and then I used the adjustment sliders until I got to the point that it was pleasing to my eye. I'm fairly certain I also used one of the color filters in Silver Efex adjustments panel.
The fog bank did move in to shore and closed the door on a colorful sunset. I'm happy that I was able to make some lemonade while waiting for sunset!
Interestingly, there are a group of folks that show up at Bandon Beach on every Sunday when there is going to be a low tide in the late afternoon. They bring rakes and begin to make a labyrinth design in the sand. It is a total group effort with children, parents and older folks. When they are done with the design, they all walk through the maze-like result. I took an iphone image from the cliff and will try to post it here.
