p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Honey, I think it's time!

This morning on Nickerson Beach we were lucky enough to witness this. Most of these photos are large crops. I moved in very slowly not wanting to disturb the nesting.

-29 It's the young male again

They all flew far down the back and I did not see them again. It appears to me that a hospital room is a lot easier place to give birth than on the beach.

Comments and suggestions welcome,

Morris

Great set Morris, how did you ever manage to get in this close? Some really nice poses you captured.

Great bio-graphy Morris! It's fascinating to watch the drama that unfolds before our eyes out in the field--so often unseen and unappreciated.

Neat stuff and nice job with the exposures too.

Thanks for posting.

Nice behavior series Morris I hope you kept your distance, at this time of year the birds are very open to being stressed . I see mom is banded did you report the # this gives wildlife people lots of info on the birds and helps protect them

Thank you Louie,

I've been shooting on this beach for many years and the birds grow up as chicks knowing me

Thank you Kim,
This is one of the joys of wildlife photography and it's super being able to share this with those who have never see it

Thank you Michael,
These same birds walked right up to me earlier as they grew up as chicks knowing me. I did approach very slowly and watched there reactions. I was never closer than 50 feet which is the required separation per NYS law. 600mm is very helpful. I did not get a complete number from there tags.
