While the snow geese migrate, along with them come the little Ross's goose. In the past few weeks we have had two of these little rarities touch down in the Hamilton, Ontario area. Last Saturday morning I woke to huge snow flakes falling ever so slowly, I checked the internet and a local bird server and saw the bird was reported early and was about twenty minutes from home. I rushed out hoping I could located it before the snow ended, which I did and went prone in the wet snow with my jeans on and I got soaked for about 30 images. lol
Sunday I met some friends at the local marina, and I took them to see if the bird was still around. When we got there people were already at the bird, so I tried to put myself in a position if it flew. It flew a short distance, then eventually flew out. About an hour later back at the marina, doesn't the bird fly in for more shots in the water. Wow, this would be the first time a bird came to me. It was rather bright when it came to the marina, but I was very happy to get the images I did of this little rarity.
Sorry for the long story, and thanks for looking.
