Beautiful Ruby, Birdie. 2 excellent images. I like #2 more because the purple background make that Ruby look so nice.

Thank you so very much Tam.

Well done, Birdie. Our feeder awaits. We had a male with a very similar injury last fall. Didn't seem to be an issue. I have to wonder if it is the same bird. "It's a small world", as they say.
I hope they show up for you soon ! I really enjoy having them around.

Well, a harbinger of good things to come I would say Birdie. A little sword fighting amongst males possibly led to the injury. Lovely shots!

I do hope you are right about it being a harbinger of good things to come

Wait, what They're back already?? This is an odd Spring to be sure, but I'm glad to see your guest, Birdie! It amazes me how the wild things can survive with injury and impacts and seemingly do quite well.
That your garden is already / still offering such nice complimentary colors in its flowers helps make these beauties beautiful.
Thanks for posting.

Kim, it is an amazing thing . With the exception of 3 nights of below freezing , we had the warmest winter on record.
Lots of my plants survived without issue, the porter weed being one.
