It was very late in the day....they had already made the exit call several minutes earlier at Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Florida. I'd been watching this guy, but he insisted on staying within the dense plant.

THEN - he graced me with a few seconds in the open.

Nice images but a few nits… your colors are over saturated and you would benefit
with some noise reduction.

I appreciate the comments. I'm not seeing any indications of over-saturation in the files...but I'll give them another look.

These were shot at fairly high ISO's - at least for the D810! ! So perhaps I need to see about applying more NR.

Thanks!

Very nice. Those birds can be tough to photograph, they are always on the move.

Two lovley photos of my faverate Bird Karen. You might want to apply some noise reduction to the backgrounds and then make a big print of the first

Beautiful bird! I plan on hitting Wakodahatchee in a couple months and hopefully I can score a purple gallinule as well as you have!

Good results considering what look like very tough lighting conditions! Well done.

Neat shots. You don't want to ignore the exit calls there

Great shots, Karen.I completely agree about the bird not coming out in the open. I too was there last year and had the same experience. I plan to be there late April, early May
