A hephaloflumpus weevil. Well that's what I think they should be called
Focus stacked using zerene. About 2.8mm body length not including the nose.

Nice images. Probably a Nedyus species, of which quadrimaculatus is the most likely.

John - Hand held yes but not quite at 5X- actually at 3.3X.
Normal method of holding the leaf the weevil was on with my left hand and resting the lens on that hand.
