Sure. Camera was a Nikon D4 and lens was a 70-200 VR1. Those were shot at ISO 100, 1/250SS, and F6.3-F8. I now use a D810 at ISO 64 and the same SS. Depending on what the client is looking for, I usually shoot at between F8 and F11 to get the entire face in focus.

Hello RKnecht you mentioned you used 2 lights Einstein 640s - would you know what sort of power you are running these at please for these shots? Also can you please tell me what diffusers you used on the main light and also rim light?
thanks Sue

Not sure of the power levels of the units in each photo. It all depends on F stop and any ambient light. I use a silver PLM umbrella on the main light and a reflector with a grid for the rim light.

Finally had some time to take a few more shots today - these were taken using the 2 Jinbei ef200 continious lights on full power with a beauty dish on one and a 60cm soft box with grids on the other - both pointing in to the dog to the left of me - and pointing down. ISO 1600 1/160s f9 - the lights were about a metre from the dog.....looking forward to getting my strobe next week - but wanted to share some photos for comment thanks

IMO they are a very good start. I think you need some rim light separation with the dark fur, and maybe a bit of fill.
