I'm trying to gauge a value for this rangefinder kit that I want to list in the buy/sell section. Here's what I know:
- It's a Canon Model IV Rangefinder (no letters after) and it seems there were only 1,400 made.
- I saw the body on eBay a year or so ago and it went for over $300. (There's on on eBay right now that's labeled a IV, but it's not. The vertical lines on the knobs are the giveaway; the IV has diamonds). Here's where I read about identifiers: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/iannorris/leica_copies/leica_copies_c/canon4.htm
- The lens averages in the neighborhood of $100.
- The flash tester and spare bulbs go for around $30.
- The light meter goes for around $25.
- The manual is $25-30.
- The closest flash setup I've seen sell was a few years newer and went for a little more than $50 (it didn't come with unpopped bulbs).
- The kit case and camera case are pretty rough, so I doubt they hold much value, but they're neat.
Since a lot of the kit is stuff you don't see very often, I'm having a hard time setting a price for some collector out there. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
