Thanks, Tom.

I exposed for the black color of the bird, thus over-exposing everything else, but not too-too much. A couple Lightroom slides to the left, highlights and whites, and the backgound seemed to come out okay.

The two were actually posed on the same bush, looking "up" trying to catch flies. They'd fly up, catch a fly, and land back down again, often taking turns on the same branch of the bush.
