I don't know if this video has been posted here, but I haven't seen it, so I'm posting for anyone who has not.

It looks like a poor choice in shutter speed, or was somebody just goofing around?

I'm in the camp of someone goofing round with shutter speed to match chopper blades.

Geez guys - I wasn't trying to analyze it - I just thought it was kind of neat.

@Douglas - it still works for me. If you can't see it go to youtube and search for "camera shutter speed matches helicopter's rotor". And surprise - there are other examples...

The source is a movie (frame-rate related, not shutter speed), and that's not unusual; more often it rotates slowly one way, sometimes slowly the other way. The relationship is of frame rate to rotor RPM (multiplied by # of blades); if the latter divided by the former is a whole number, you get a video like this. If slightly different, rotor spins slowly; the more different it is, the faster the rotor appears to spin.
