These two pictures were taken at the same location. It was raining and luckily I had my plastic rainsleeve with me.
A7RII + Zeiss 16-35/4 zoom.
Thanks for looking,
Fred

I like the vertical comp a little more -- good stuff!

Nice job Fred! The famous tree next to Cook's "Lake". 😜

A wonderful pair Fred! We get a lot of similar rain light up here in Oregon

Very nice images, B&W really conveys the cold and bleakness of the day.

Cheers Ray

Thanks for your feedback. I'm still torn between the two.

Thank you Stephen.
Yes, you can't miss that tree! A beauty especially during fall season.

Fred,

Lovely work, all of them.

Guess it has been a superb winter for snowy landscape images, if you can get to the locations!

Best,

Bob

Two fine images, Fred. I think if I had to pick, I prefer the second due to the more engaging foreground.

I think the vertical works better for me, it includes the valley walls on the right side, and gives you more the sense of being down in the valley than the other one does. The first is less unique to the Yosemite Valley, it doesn't seem to have that connection....

Having shot that tree during the fall...I never realized that the meadow would be full of water in the rainy season like that! That is pretty cool, the water and snow tufts are great foreground elements and textures.

Hey Fred,

Its hard to choose between the 2 images. I like how #1 has room to breath, in #2, I like the more detailed foreground.

There was no snow up there this past weekend when I was there, so I missed that, but getting a nuclear show of Horsetail Falls on Saturday was a worthy trade off.

Jim, I had to leave Yosemite on Saturday so only had Wednesday and Friday nights for horsetail (Sun, Mon, Tues, and Thurs. were no shows). Would love to see what Saturday looked like so please post some pics!

Nice cold work here Fred! I think I'm preferring the vertical. Sitting in Florida (my new home) I'm not missing the cold at the moment!
