I like small depth of field, I like special bokeh, I like much blur.
But the lenses I can afford donīt fullfill all my dreams!
So I started some years ago experiments with homemade speedbooster (here: combination of two positive lenses).

After I bought the Sony A7II I got more and more posibillities - I could for example focus my lenses up to infinity.
These are made with something about 150mm f/1.2 - a bit of Aero Ektar effect:

And now with the Kipon medium format speedbooster and a bit of modification I again got some pleasent results. Bokeh is more on the neutral side, but this helps to get more sharpness.
These two are made with the Canon Fd 400mm f/2.8L - now 280mm f/2.0 on fullframe:

I love my FD 400mm f/2.8L lens for this, but have some other lenses like the Diaplan 100mm/2.8 (Trioplan sister) or episcope lenses as front lenses as well.
At first sight it seems one of my DIY speedbooster gives nearly the same results as the Kipon medium format speedbooster on this less demanding 0.7 factor. For my DIY lenses I often use ~0.5 or even 0.3 as factor for the resulting focal lengths.
