conrad2nr,

Thanks for the information.

Don't miss understand me when they nail focus i wont replace my ART lens with the Nikon versions.

I totally agree that Nikon zoom keeper rate is higher ( My 70-200 2.8 E is great at nailing focus ) but as you said a 2.8 lens is not really a fair comparison.

I am totally aware how shallow DOF is, yet inconsistency is about movement of DOF not his depth.

No body will be happier than me if i am proven wrong , i own 20,35,50 and 85 ART.
and in the Nikon world there is simply no better option with better optics ( not counting Zeiss MF lens ).

i will give AF-C a try tomorrow, i admit i didn't explore it at all with open apertures.

Yair, I shoot with the 810. I also use back button focus, if that matters.

After looking at the Sigma 135 preview, I think i'm going to pass, the Nikon 105 1.4E looks better to me.

If anything I prefer the Nikon zooms for their accuracy over the Nikon/Sigma primes and part of that may be due to them being f/2.8

Yup, just the same with nikon primes ()which are also pretty slow to focus)

It will be interesting to see how sigma's announced 24-70 will stack up in the af stakes.

Ariel777,
Thank you.
It looks like my exceptions from AF are too high

What preview? Looks better? What photos? Jumping to the conclusion a bit, don't you?

Irix makes both a 15mm F2.4 and a 11mm F4.0 in two models-each. These are FF UWAs at very moderate prices with fine preliminary reviews.

I preordered the 11mm "Firefly" (lighter/cheaper version) which is said to go head to head with the Canon 11-24 @ 11mm for $575.

Are you serious? You'll pass as you draw definitive conclusion from this half baked test with adapter attached to lens, and on a basis of several mediocre photos? Ok, good for you. I will wait for several seriously conducted reviews before I decide about possible purchase.

I'm not done considering the Sigma 135. I'm just saying from what iv'e seen so far, the bokeh looks more clinical / serious than the 105 1.4E
