Just came back from a trip to Hokkaido and it was a lot of fun. Just in time for the annual winter migration of Steller's sea eagle from Siberia to Rausu.

Fabulous series of these HUGE eagles. Getting those two white tailed eagles fishing in virtual tandem is very cool as is the talon to talon shot.

Excellent captures Suteerar. The third grabs me where you have the brilliant white. Making the background more white in the last could make it a stunner.

Thanks Morris for the suggestion. Yes, the whiter background looks much better. Not sure why I did not think of that before. Here is another picture from the same pass that the eagles did, corrected as you suggested.

An excellent series of images! I had a chance of seeing and photographing them several years back in Rausu, too and I would love to do it again. The brown eagles outnumbered the Stellar eagles like 2:1 back then.

Yes, I definitely would love to go back there again. This year, due to schedule constraint,I had to come to Rausu a bit too early and sea ice had not yet arrived. Otherwise, it would be fun to see these sea eagles on the sea ice as well. The white tailed sea eagles still out numbered the Steller by quite a bit, 2:1 sounds about right.
