p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Update any time soon?

Im ready to pull the trigger on a new DSLR and have pretty much settled on the 1Dx mk II. But knowing how everything in my life goes, if I bought one today at 5:00, they will announce a 1D mkIII at 5:01.

That being said, since the Mk II has been out for a while now, should I hold on since a MK III is inevitable? I checked canonrumors but didnt see anything coming up. what would be the best guess refresh cycle for it? Im open to any suggestions.

Been out for a while? It's been just over half a year. I'd say you have about 4 years before it's replacement is out.

I would say the only chance of a quick update (a 1DX2n more likely) would be if Sony A99ii start showing up on the sidelines of games in numbers. Don't see that happening with their woeful support rep.

Not to mention that the only two telephoto lenses in their lineup are only manufactured when a wealthy hobbyist orders one...

The 1DX3 will be available just before the next Olympic games in 2020. You should be safe for a few years yet.
